Prologue: understanding the x-rays

Imagine what it would be like if you had the capacity to physically see what is happening under your skin at all times. To view in color how your internal organs are breaking down and processing the food you eat, and how your blood is circulating through your internal system with every organ playing its role in the perennial process.

What about if you had the capacity to physically see how the cells within your body incubate, interpret and proceed to process the secret thoughts and ideas warehoused in your sub-conscience and the words you hear, believe and choose to speak.

This book,  “A true leader abides in his work and maximizes time,” a collection of carefully selected illustrations from the artist’ work, “Keeper of Time,” affords you that rare and prodigious opportunity. Defined as x-rays by the artist, each figure (fig) penetrates the veneer of the composition and takes you into the soul of the work to see what is beneath, in essence, what the artist was seeing in his mind’s eye as he was making the piece. Akin to the organs of a physical body, while a part of the x-ray (fig) can definitively depict a particular thought, it can also allude to a different idea as well as represent yet another idea.

To appreciate the artist’s intention in each of the selected figures (figs) in this book, it is important to understand why he refers to them as x-rays.

By definition, an x-ray is a photographic or digital image of the internal composition of something, especially a part of the body. It is a picture taken of the inside of something using high-energy electromagnetic radiation. Most commonly, it is a picture that the doctor takes of a patient’s insides to see if the patient has any broken bones.

Similarly, each figure (fig) in this book is an x-ray into the internal composition of the idea that it represents, a magnified image that captures and expresses the principal attribute and value being communicated at that particular juncture in the book.

Through the x-rays, Nya’ affords you the unabridged access into the sacred chambers of his creative prowess and unveils to you the inspiration behind the creation of each element in the composition. This astounding feat grants you three enduring elements as you read the book and view the selected x-rays:

a: The capacity to comprehend the original idea (precept) being communicated by the artist

b: The capacity to conceive, understand and evaluate the concepts in the subject matter of the book

c: The capacity to apprehend and rightly appropriate the red thread unifying the theme(s)  in the book
