New Media
New media refers to interdisciplinary art that utilizes electronic media, e.g. computer software, hardware devices, monitors, projections and three-dimensional fabrications. Works in New Media style include the following:
∙ Television
∙ Video and computer games
∙ Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT’s)
∙ CD-ROMs, DVDs, and other memory holding devices
∙ Sculptures fabricated entirely by machines and controlled by computers
∙ Gallery and museum installations that change before the eyes of the viewer
∙ Mini-computers that are either hand-held, worn on the body, or embedded in other devices
∙ Robots and other related devices, often computer controlled, and involving multiple motors
∙ Non-Objective art (abstract art that is usually geometric and conveys a sense of purity and simplicity)
∙ Online art, made to be experienced while online, and dependent upon the latest internet languages
