Didactic

Something which is intended to instruct. Sometimes, to be morally instructive. "Didaktikos" is a Greek word that means "apt at teaching." It comes from "didaskein," meaning "to teach." Something didactic teaches or instructs. A didactic piece of work is one that is meant to be instructive as well as artistic. Genre painting and sculpture, narrative and often allegorical, is apt to be didactic, especially when its aim is to teach a moral lesson.
