Art History is the academic study of the history and development of painting, sculpture, and other visual arts in a historical and stylistic context. From its onset, the discipline of art history gave special mention, importance and prominence to traditional forms of art like sculpture, painting, drawing, ceramics, architecture, and decorative arts. However, today, art history has expanded to a wider range of visual culture, including the multifarious visual and conceptual outcomes related to a continuously evolving definition of art.
