Prologue: understanding the x-rays

Imagine what it would be like if you had the capacity to physically see what is happening under your skin at all times. To view in color how your internal organs are breaking down and processing the food you eat, and how your blood is circulating through your internal system with every organ playing its role in the perennial process.

What about if you had the capacity to physically see how the cells within your body incubate, interpret and proceed to process the secret thoughts and ideas warehoused in your sub-conscience and the words you hear, believe and choose to speak.

This book, “The perfect sample of a true leader,” a collection of carefully selected illustrations from the artist’ work, “Heir of Inheritance,” affords you that rare and prodigious opportunity.

Defined as x-rays by the artist, each figure (fig) penetrates the veneer of the composition and takes you into the soul of the work to see what is beneath, in essence, what the artist was seeing in his mind’s eye as he was making the piece. Akin to the organs of a physical body, while a part of the x-ray (fig) can definitively depict a particular thought, it can also allude to a different idea as well as represent yet another idea.

To that end, part of an x-ray representing the nature of fallen Man can also depict the impartiality of time and also allude to the limitations of this world’s systems hence it might be referred to more than once within a paragraph and multiple times throughout the book.

To appreciate the artist’s intention in each of the selected figures (figs), it is important to understand why he refers to them as x-rays.

By definition, an x-ray is a photographic or digital image of the internal composition of something, especially a part of the body. It is a picture taken of the inside of something using high-energy electromagnetic radiation. Most commonly, it is a picture that the doctor takes of a patient’s insides to see if the patient has any broken bones. Similarly, each figure (fig) in this book is an x-ray into the internal composition of the main work that it represents, a magnified image that captures and expresses the principal attribute and value being communicated at that particular juncture in the book.

Essentially, the dexterous, multiplex, intriguing and “anime like” x-rays or figures (figs) in the book are a keen window into the anatomy of “Heir of Inheritance.” Each selected x-ray is a public surgery, a dissection and microscopic examination of the multifarious cells amalgamating to form the primary organs and muscles conceiving each illustration.

Whilst traditionally, the viewer only sees the finished painting by an artist, with perhaps a series of catalogues printed years later showcasing the under drawings and notes written by the artist prior to and during the creation of the work, Nya’ does the exact opposite. He grants you the unabridged access into the sacred chambers of his creative prowess and walks you through the creation of each element in the work. Despite leaving the artist vulnerable, this astounding feat grants you three important things as you read the book and view the selected figures:

a: The capacity to comprehend the original idea (precept) being communicated by the artist

b: The capacity to conceive the concepts comprising the overall subject matter of the work

c: The capacity to apprehend and appropriate the red thread unifying the themes in his oeuvre
