Tradition is the transmission of customs, the handing down of experiences, the impartation of beliefs, the transference of ideologies, the turning over of a theology and the conveying of a philosophy from generation to generation through words. The purpose of tradition is to transfer knowledge, provide stability and create a sense of belonging and common experience in a society, community, nation or group of people.
