Abstract Impressionism

This term describes paintings that resemble distinct late Impressionist pictures in their brushwork but do not have representative content. For example, the work of the French painter, Oscar-Claude Monet, (1840 – 1926), a French painter who is considered as the key precursor to modernism, especially in his attempts to paint nature as he perceived it.
