Mythology

Mythology or Myths is a collection of tales that have been dully esteemed from one generation to another to communicate, promote, preserve and exalt the origins, history, deities and ancestors of a people. It is an allegorical narrative, a composite body of myths that lionize, venerates, exalts and highly esteems their heroes, their gods, demigods and altars. There are multifarious types of myths but only three are essential to note, namely:

Historical Myths

Etiological Myths

Psychological Myths

In essence, it is through the use of symbols that myths have the ability to demystify and clarify a people’s understanding of their past in order for them to comprehend their present.
